Victoria Beckham could finally be ready to get back up on stage with her Spice Girls bandmates, reckons Mel B.
The singer has claimed before that fashion designer Victoria could return to her pop music roots and has given fans of the group fresh hope, saying: "If I say it enough, it will happen".
Last time Victoria, 49, performed with the Spice Girls was 11 years ago, when they briefly reunited for the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, but although the rest of the group have toured together since then, Posh Spice has not joined them.
Mel B told The Sun: "My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen. But actually we are planning on releasing a statement.
"We're just finishing off perfecting what we're going to be doing together, all five of us, but it's going to be something that the fans are really going to love.
"Obviously she's got a bunch of kids so it's just about finding the right time and we've managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon."
Mum-of-four Victoria saw her eldest son, Brooklyn, get married in 2022 when he wed Nicola Peltz in Palm Beach, Florida.
Last time Mel B claimed that Victoria was warming up her vocals again was in 2021, when she suggested that they would be back on stage after lockdown along with Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Horner.
She said: "I think it's all of us. I think so. Until the restrictions are eased it's all up in the air but we are all raring to go."
Before that, in 2019 Mel B suggested the Spice Girls could add a Glastonbury slot to their tour and speculated on Victoria joining them.
She said: "Victoria is Victoria. She’s made an amazing career based on the Spice Girls. She’s got a fashion empire and she’s done amazingly well.
"But you can’t beat being Posh Spice in the Spice Girls, can you? You can’t beat that."
Mel had even promised a fan she would refund the cost of their ticket if the Spice Girls were not booked for Glastonbury 2020, although of course the festival was cancelled as it fell during the Covid pandemic.
But Emma told the Keith Lemon podcast recently that she knew nothing about a Glastonbury booking, saying: "All of us have been on the phone like... no one's asked us!"
She added: "I don't know, I think it would be fab and I have spoken to Victoria about it too and I think she'd be up for Glasto."
Victoria's reps have been contacted for comment.
